The Consultation
The consultation process is the first and arguably the most important step in treating hair loss and hair loss conditions. This is where we can investigate the reasons behind the hair loss and being a tailored treatment made to work for you.
During the consultation process our experienced and talented Trichologists will conduct an in depth scalp analysis and begin investigating by diving into not only test results but also your lifestyle, diet and current care and management of your hair. This is to give us the most information to begin you on your hair restoration journey.
We will then being examining for any scalp sensitivities or allergies and for evidence of any pre-existing conditions including, but not solely limited to; an excess of protein in the system, poor management of the hair and scalp, poor diet and lifestyle, inherited/genetic conditions or any structural damage that may be present in the hair or follicle. To enhance our treatment abilities we may also conduct more advanced tests such as microscopic imagining of the scalp and hair structure, a scalp biopsy and blood tests.
These results will help us identify or weed out conditions that can cause damage to the hair and scalp along with hair thinning and hair loss such as:

- Telogen Effluvium (disrupted hair cycle)
- Abnormal scalp secretions
- Fungal infections
- Genetic factors
- Stress and dietary deficiencies
- Hormonal imbalances including post-partum hair loss
- Poor quality and abrasive hair care products, over aggressive hair dressing processes and colouring or poor hair styling

Due to the investigative nature of these tests and examinations immediate results and diagnosis may not always be possible. We will always put our clients’ best interests first and to allow us to do this our extensive consultation process is integral.
